Trying to help a friend

My friend is a permanent resident and he is thinking of marrying his girlfriend, who is an illegal immigrant. Will be be able to submit a
I-130 on her behalf? If he can, will she be able to remain in the US? I thought of calling the INS, but other friends said to try this board first.

If this board can't help, call the INS, but call them several times to make sure you get the same answer each time.

If she entered the US illegally, there is nothing that he can do for her. If she has overstayed a visa, they may be able to file.

Or they can get married and wait for extension of 245(i).
