H1 extension

I sent an application to extend my H1 visa since octber 2002, I haven't heard anything yet. in fact, the Vermont office where I filed is working on the December cases. any idea about this?

PS. I am from a muslim country.

I know, it's really sad!!!!
The Vermont office is the worst. I have a case there also(not same as yours), but what I'm trying to say is that right now, the Vermont office is behind with all the cases.
I guess all you have to do is wait and from time to time call the Vermont office to ask about the status of your case. I know, you'll have to keep on dialing until there's no more busy signal anymore and you get through. I don't know if you ever called there. I did. Sometimes you catch tehm fast(fast is in this situation here is at least 20 times) sometimes you keep on dialing for hours and you don't get through.
it good to call though. They can tell you everything about your case(the status).
Unless!!!!!!!!!!!!.........You are pretty lucky and you can check your case just by entering the case # yourself(either by phone or on line).

Just so you'll get an idea about how SLOW the vermont office is: My recipt date is january 29 2002 !
And I'm STILL waiting.

Hope we won't wait for much longer....Us, the unluckiest vermont office people.
