hello... just got my EAD, filed 1-485 (employer sponsored) last Aug 2002 and h1-b expiring on Oct 2003. here are my questions:
    1. do need to file an h1-b extension?
    2. what if i get laid off, what happens to my i-485 (it's more than the 180 days). can i can find another job using my valid ead (any restrictions on this)?
    3. if i find an employer who will sponsor me, do i need to start all over again?

Any comments / ideas / help would be appreciated... thanks...

You can let the H-1B expire at this point, because your new status is "applicant for permanent residence." With your valid EAD, you can work anywhere. However, you should try to get a job in the same or a similar occupation for purposes of your I-485.
