I hope someone will be able to help me, my Husband is a usc and above to file for my greencard the problem is he was married before after the divorce and everything else he's in alot of debt which he's thinking about filling bankruptcy can this provent me from obtaining a greencard we're broke even though he works for a very good salary. No, the bankruptcy should have a bearing, but you will need an afadavit of support to do your AOS. However, this does not have to be done by your husband, your in-laws or a friend can do the afadavit.

I am in the same situation with my USC spouse about to declare bankruptcy. What is this about someone else being able to file the affiavit of support? Can my wife still file it? Will her bankruptcy not have any impact on my greencard being issued?

Your wife will still need to do the Affidavit of Support but you can also have a "joint sponsor" who can also give an Affidavit of Support to supplement your wife's affidavit.
