"I've never thought anything of you. Your debate skills suck and your logic in absent. Your punctuation and grammar are pathetic and you use no facts to substantiate your claim. The CSPA law shows that the US has a bleeding heart toward children. Nothing more. If you think the Nation has changed it's mind about immigration in general, you're a fool.

Besides ad hominem attacks, did your post add anything of value? The evidence speaks for itself, you ignorant fool. Below are several polls that show how Americans really think. Immigrants may be coming en masse, but the real power of this country is with it's registered voters and taxpayers.

    Polls:

    http://www.cis.org/articles/2001/terrorpoll.html

USA Today/CNN/Gallup Poll - Oct. 2001 national poll of adults.

    Q. "In your view, should immigration be kept at its present level, increased or decreased?"
    A. "Present level" - 30%, "Increased" - 8%, "Decreased" - 58%, "No opinion" - 4%.

Changing American Lives Poll (McPheters & Co. and Beta Research) - Nov. 2001 national poll of 500 adults.

    Q. "There should be tightened restrictions placed on immigration."
    A. "Strongly agree" - 66%, "Mostly agree" - 18%, "Neither agree nor disagree" - 8%, "Mostly disagree" - 4%, "Strongly disagree" - 4%.

Zogby Poll - Mid-Sept. 2001 national poll of 1,018 adults on immigration and terrorism (for Center for Immigration Studies).

    Q. "Do you think the government is doing enough or not enough to control the border and to screen people allowed into the country?"
    A. "Not Enough" - 77%, "Enough" - 18%.

    Q. "Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree that enforcement of immigration laws and the border has been too lax and this made it easier for the terrorists to enter the country?"
    A. "Strongly & Somewhat Agree" - 85%, "Strongly or Somewhat Disagree" - 13%."

    I say....

"I've never thought anything of you."

The mere fact that you've spent your precious time answering my thread inevitably shows otherwise. Tell me, who's grinding his sit right now?

"Your debate skills suck and your logic in absent"

    Look who's talking.

"Your punctuation and grammar are(sic) pathetic"

    Well, nobody's perfect.

"The CSPA law shows that the US has a bleeding heart toward(sic) children."

Precisely! Children of these "lazy immigrants". Do you see what i mean when i said that most of the time - if not all of the time- you tend to contradict yourself? Why would a "Nation" such as yours do such a thing if it doesn't believe it is for its own long-term self interest?

    "Nothing more"
I guess that is subject for debate isn't it?

"If you think the Nation has changed it's mind about immigration in general, you're a fool."

I really do not understand what you meant in this statement because: in general, for these past 2 decades the ratio of pro-immigration vis-a-vis to anti-immigration laws enacted is 3:1 with no clear distinction who passed what since conservatives and liberals alike endorsed either kind of bills at one time or another. Currently there are 7 pro-immigration bills pending on both chambers of congress as opposed to 2 anti's. There are also 3 formal pro-immigration lobby groups in Congress. Anti-immigrant's you ask? None.
In particular, the CSPA has been passed during the time when anti-ILLEGAL immigration sentiment WAS relative high. There is now a rising mood among practitioners that the CSPA has the potential to be the most significant immigration law ever passed in recent history. One old observer (Michael J. Gurfinkel, Esq) even commented that CSPA is "more than equal to 2 blanket amnesties" that we can expect the INS to make a very conservative interpretation - which is its usual practice- to "dilute the law".
What kind of lawmaker or President would like to risk his political carreer by endorsing/ enacting a bill that he thinks run contrary to popular mandate by "registered voters and taxpayers" unless he's an idiot like you are.
Recent steps that were undertaken after the WTC bombing specifically focuses on illegal immigrants using the pretext of existing laws that were previously unenforced by - who else- the INS.
Sorry to say this but "THE EVIDENCE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, YOU IGNORANT FOOL!"

Where are my facts you ask? I guess that's for you to find out where they are.

"Below are several polls that show how Americans really think."

So you think you're a really smart guy now, huh? Man, you really skewed your senses here.

Don't you wonder why those polls you mentioned and ALL SPOT POLLS, for this matter, are not even being mentioned on Stat Classes? Among other darn obvious reasons, it's because they don't contain "index factoring" and "stratification measures". The protocols they implement hide under the cloak of propritariness and are not open for scholarly scrutiny. They are widely known to be subject to individual bias and easily affected by factors such as the WTC events. They have never been known as fit for law-making purposes and they're useful only for scaring people and awful substantiation of dumb smart reasoning you proudly possess.

I know you are much better than this, man.

Well, i have to agree with you on this one. Just look around and you'll understand why you are the minority and why.

ANY credibility that you may have had is now gone. Anyone that would quote a foolish rap star in a debate is a fool and a loser. This isn't our first clue, merely the icing on the cake.

Of course you would try and discredit these polls by casting doubt on the statistical method. This fallacy is known as poisoning the well. If you have some polls that support your position, and meet your statistical scrutiny, please share them. The fact of the matter is that there are many polls taken and most point toward the voter wanting less immigration. The poll taken by CBS news in January is another example. Congress does not seem to represent what the true population wants. Congress is influenced by the business lobby, which is in favor of more cheap immigrant labor. You would like the world to think that I am the minority, but there are many people that think like I do, and people that support those anti-immigration groups.
