I know about NTA . Can anyone tell me what's the meaning of "own recognizance ?"

NTA means Notice to Appear, in other words DETAINED for hearing in front of the Immigration Judge.

I am not sure what it means by "Own recognizance"?

When one is arrested, either they can be freed on bail and the judge decides the anmmount for the bail, on the other hand the can be set free on "own recognizance" basically means without putting any money for bail. just on your own credibility. This is my defination. Webester may put it little differently.
