  • Married couple

    Good Morning,

I just recently got married and I applied for my citizenship. Well I want to know if my husband was to come to this country before or after I get my citizenship and I file the I-130 form would he be able to stay longer than is expected? To say that I get my citizenship before he come's would that stop him from coming into the U.S or if I get my citizenship after he comes would he be able to stay until his application processing is complete.

File 1-130 now and inform INS your change of status. Being a usc is of course advantageous but in the meanwhile your usc petition is under process, your 1-130 petition is also moving.
