Anyone with any bad experience at Atlanta or Charlotte Airports?

Just checking if anyone trying to leave thru the Atlanta International Airport or Charlotte International Airport has experienced any difficulties or problems since 9/11? I'm out of status and I just want to go home forever and I plan to leave in April or June, and am deciding which airport to leave from

Leaving the US will not be a problem no matter where you leave from.

then why does the NY Times, and other newspapers as well, claim that there are so many being detained by the INS when they try to leave the U.S. for Canada? It was again in yesterday's NY Times about several hundred out-of-status Pakistanis (although I'm not a Pakistani) rushing to get asylum in Canada but were detained by the INS instead? I do hope you're correct though

Leaving for Canada through land makes you pass INS officers.

Leaving out of an airport normally doesn't make you pass INS.
