Ok I hope this is a straightforward question. I am English and my fiance is American. If she came over here to marry me, would I be able to back with her ? Or do I have to wait months and months for a husband visa to go back ?

Question about getting married in UK

DONT DO IT!
What I mean by that is if you marry the US Citizen in the UK and then try to come back to the US to live you may have serious problems.
(1) If your honest with immigration at the point of entry and say you are coming to live with your wife, they may not let you in, or give you a mandatory departure date (and I believe you wont be able to adjust your status)
(2) If lie (or neglect to tell the truth), you may get in but may have serious problems adjusting your status (i.e. getting a Green Card). Immigration views this as fraud and may end up needing a Waiver of Inadmissability which is a long, difficult, and potentially expensive process.
Take it from me and my wife, we are in the beggining phase of this because we got married overseas, and she came to the US to live with me right away.
The legal way is for your wife to petition you as a fiancee. After that she has 3 months (I believe) to marry you in the US or then you have to go back.
If you get married in the UK, then she has to petition you from the US and it could take up to a year. The advantage of this method is you get your green card before you even come to live here.
Hope this info helps and good luck

To Steven:
If you get married in U.K. Then your USC wife will be able to sponsor you at the U.S. Embassy in U.K. which will drastically cut down the processing period because Immigration has their office in the Embassy to approve the petition. In this way, you should be here within 4 - 6 months. When you will land in the United States, you will be a Permanent Resident of the United States. Through Fiance Visa it will take much longer time for you to get your Green Card.
Good luck.

Umesh may be right, but I have also heard vice versa (i.e. that the fiance visa is quicker for USC) however there is a newer process for spouses that is supposed to equal the time of the fiance visa, perhaps it works out to be shorter.... you may want to double check this.
