Many immgrants might face similar situations. I have been in the USA for about 7 years, in the process of getting citizenship.
Sometimes people(locals) ask me "where you from ? " . In the begining, I used to tell them the whole story(I am from so & so country etc etc).
Now its getting reall boring, to repeat the same thing over & over.
Is it appropriate to answer " I am from Franklin" ? (Franklin is the town I live in currently).
what other answers would be polite and avoid me having to go thru the same drill ?
any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks,
AK.
