Very much in love... help please.. marriage/immigration question

I am a US citizen, born and raised here. I am very much in love with a man from england, and he with me. We wish very much to marry, the problem is, we can't make heads or tails of what we are reading. "An Alien's Alien Alien, etc. etc. etc." And all the items we find seems to be about residents and not citizens. I am just so confused. All we want to do is get married and be happy. He very financially independent, and even without that, I have no problem meeting the requires necessary.

Here is my question please...

Can't he just come here and us get married like while he is on vacation and him just stay and not go back? Is this a problem? I know we have to apply for a change of visa status. But will there be a problem with this?

Or would it be easier for me to marry him when I go and visit him and then have him come back here on a tourist visa while the paperwork is being processed. Is that even possible?

I honestly can not wait 6+ months. I can not stand not being with him.

Please. Any help you can give will be appreciated. I have contacted over 10 lawyers and no one seems to do immigration law, even the ones who advertise that they do.

I understand your feelings but I think that the best way would be waiting for the 6 months or whatever time it is necessary. It's OK that you love him and can't stand being away from him, but the anxiety that's taking place is not because of your love but indeed love mixed with passion. Passion blinds fairness and reason and leads us to to silly things. The one who loves...knows how to wait in time! What are six months in a lifetime?!

If he comes to the U.S. intending to make a short visit, and then after a spending time with you, you decide to marry, then he can stay while the paperwork is processed.

But if he comes to the U.S. with the intent to marry you, he is inadmissible and will be sent back by the INS inspectors. Then you will have to wait for processing of a fiance/spouse visa before he can return.

The key here is the length of time between beginning the visit and deciding to get married. Others on this site have much better experience of what is acceptable than I do.

You can talk to an immigration lawyer about the deal. Your fiance is from a country where they dont interrogate, disrupt, or cause you to face bankruptcy as where my fiance is from.
I know it seems like a long time, but we have been together three years, and will be at least another 6 months until we are finally together.
