These numbers are good if you want to sponsor one person this year. Next year you will be able to sponsor two persons with your projected income of $20,000.
      Good luck.

The paralegal who helped us file my applications for AOS at local immigration office in LA told my spouse that he had to declare at least U$20,000 net income to be able to sponsor me.
By the way, we married Oct./2002 and apllied for AOS Dec./2002.
He will include my name in his income tax/2002 as his dependant. He also has a 5 year old child as his dependant.
Compared to the numbers Guest posted above, 10500 should be the amount declared for 2002. Is that right?
Can anybody explain it to me?

        Thank you.

That paralegal was right when he told your husband that he should have income of $20,000.00 because he had one dependent (his son) already and he was sponsoring you. For a household of 3 povertyline is $19,075.00.
          Good luck.
