Please go to the nearest Social Security Adm. Office to apply for a SS no. You will get this within 90 days depending upon your area. When you have this number, you can now open your bank account and apply for State ID or drivers license. You can now start processing for your labor certification too so you could get a green card but you have to consult your employer if they are willing to sponsor you for a green card. The best way is consult an immigration lawyer about this because this is a very complicated matter and especially right now we are at the brink of PERM Processing so there would be a lot of changes in the labor certification but is quite faster compared before.
