Fingerprint Notice

I just got a notice from the INS officer that interviewed me asking me to get fingerprinted again as the fingerprint card (FD-258) has been expired, rejected or unclassifiable. I got fingerprinted in October 2001.

Does this mean that he is about to approve my I-485 application or is this just routine?

Immigration has asked you for fresh Fingerprints because legally fingerprints are valid for one year only. By taking your fresh fingerprints, they will check you record and after they will receive report from FBI, then they will make final determination on your application.
