  • B2 torist visa extension

    Hi,

I have a friend from Malaysia. She has B2 tourist visa, and would like to extend it. Does anyone know how to extend and the fee?

    Thanks! and Merry Chritmas!

when she applied for the visa, how long did she tell our embassy officials that she was going to stay? Did she tell them that she planned to work illegally (babysitting for you, for example)? What "job" could she possible have that provides a 6-12 month "vacation" with pay? What other lies is she planning to tell? We don't need more visa cheats in America and no one has a 'need' to be in my country as a 'tourist' for a year, or even six months....yet here is another trailer dweller trying to help some visa cheat avoid responsibility.

Hi Judy and welcome to the forum. YOur friend would need to file Form Form I-539 Application To Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status to request for an extension of the B2 visa. The Form is either filed to the California or Vermont Service Center depending on where your friend is staying. Good luck to you.

Wrong, USCIS gives out extensions, at least the first two, like the proverbial candy.
