  • AC21 RULE..APPLICABLE TO L1B HOLDERS

    Hi,
I entered the US on my L1B visa which as u know is a intercompany trasfer visa. Its been three years now.

I have applied for my GC and my 485 is pending for more than 15 months now ( March 2002 is my receipt date ).

I am currently in the US working for the same company on EAD. My L1Bvisa has expired.

    My question is
if i am laid off for some reason, will i be able to use the AC21 rule provision to take up another job. Please note i am not on H1B.

The L-1B is not portable as it is an employer-specific status. The EAD, however, entitles you to work for whatever company you choose. But, try to get a job in the same or a similar occupation, because you will need it for the permanent residency interview.
