What bothers me the most about this, is that we have more or less admitted that we have no way to enforce our laws when so many people simply ignore them. So the only thing left to do is make what ever thing they are doing illegally, legal. we can't stop them from coming illegally , so we grant amnesty. we can't stop them from driving illegally, so we make it legal. This is also true of workers. They aren't supposed to be working without a SS#, but they are, so we come up with a tax ID #. They have unlicensed food carts all over the place. So we just don't enforce that law any more.I listened to the hearings they had about the drivers licenses, and the author of the bill, Gil Cedillo, said "They are going to drive anyway, we may as well give them a license"What a wonderful thing for a leader of a country based on the rule of law to say.And to get a car registered, you only have to show proof of insurance, at the time you register it. They don't have to carry insurance the other 11 months. Of course the LAW says you have to, but I think we see how much weight THAT carries. And what about DMV workers who give the illegals the license? Can they be proscuted for aiding and abetting??Anyone who knowingly helps someone in the country illegally, is breaking the law.I cannot understand how we can just keep allowing this to happen. Either we are a country of laws , or we are not. How long before a congressmen gets up and says" they are going to rob banks anyway, so lets just keep the money out on the counter where they can get to it easier"??These people come from a corupt country, where laws are selectivly enforced or for a few bucks are not. Does anyone else see a pattern here??

Twenty-eight percent of all workers in Los Angeles County are paid in cash as part of an underground economy thats costing various governmental agencies and estimated $1.1 billion annually in safety-net funding?
Interesting comparison HUH, they act the same way here, this is why there country is in trouble, they bring it here, then cry they are victims, were poor, we just want a better life ETC...all this while they stab US in the back, 63 thousand complaints to Social Security about illegals using U.S. citizens numbers, why should these folks be victimized??? But hay its OK, SKS will say this is not right BUT. We owe nothing to folks who victimizes us but a jail term and a bus ride.

Mexico's Illegal Workforce Nearing 11 Million, Universal Says
Monterrey, Mexico, May 22 (Bloomberg) -- The number of Mexicans with so-called informal jobs, which aren't taxed and don't provide mandatory health benefits, rose by 205,000 to 10.7 million in the first quarter, the Mexican daily Universal said.
Workers in these jobs -- such as washing cars or selling goods at street markets -- now account for 26 percent of people employed in Mexico, Universal said, citing a labor report from the country's statistics agency, known as Inegi.
Since President Vicente Fox took office in December 2000, the number of such jobs, which are illegal, has risen by 768,000, Universal said.
The growth of informal jobs, which aren't registered with tax authorities or the country's social security system, undercuts the government's ability to improve its tax collection rate, one of the lowest in Latin America. Such workers are counted as employed in government statistics that show the unemployment rate at less than 3 percent.

What bothers me the most about this, is that we have more or less admitted that we have no way to enforce our laws when so many people simply ignore them.
Its seems that way but what needs to happen and is happening in some states is for us citizens to vote and scream our heads off. We can seize assets just as we do with drug bust to help pay for the enforcement of our laws, this motivates police departments real good as they. get extra funding for needed things. Giving them drivers Lic will not solve a thing, they are still illegal and when something happens they will still leave the scene of accidents ETC...Once you break in to this country the rest of our laws mean nothing, you are deportable the minute you step over the line so WHO CARES about the laws, If your going to break one, then break them big time until you get caught, HA HA.
Controversial pilot program to enforce federal immigration law nets 165 arrests

Staff Writer
August 2, 2003
In the year since 35 Florida police officers were trained in a controversial pilot program to enforce federal immigration law, they have made more than 165 arrests, and officials here and in other states want to expand the program.
"We've learned a lot through this, so that other states have been looking at us as an example," said Jim Sewell, assistant commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Los Angeles County has inquired about deputizing officers to enforce immigration law, said Chris Bentley, spokesman for the federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Officials in Alabama hope the 25 officers they want trained would help the few federal agents in the state enforce immigration violations, said Dorris Teague, spokeswoman for the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Wrong again acelaw!!
"63 thousand complaints to Social Security about illegals using U.S. citizens numbers, why should these folks be victimized??? But hay its OK, SKS will say this is not right BUT."
Let me understand what you're saying here. If an illegal immigrant is getting paid cash, why do they need a fake SS card??
What I will say is, it is definitely not right AND we should allow them to get their own.
"We owe nothing to folks who victimizes us but a jail term and a bus ride."
You get'em boy, and a kick in the pants to boot right?
"Giving them drivers Lic will not solve a thing, they are still illegal and when something happens they will still leave the scene of accidents ETC..."
Why would they leave the scene of an accident if their insurance will cover it??
"Once you break in to this country the rest of our laws mean nothing, you are deportable the minute you step over the line so WHO CARES about the laws, If your going to break one, then break them big time until you get caught, HA HA."

acelaw, yet another post that doesn't make sense!!
"Interesting responses, wait until you become the victims, then we hear you scream to the high heavens,"
Victims of what, crime? I have been a victim of crime, and guess what? It wasn't an illegal immigrant but a fellow U.S. citizen!

What does that mean in this context?

Below are some stories by those who have suffered because of our government's refusal to enforce immigration law.
I am the manager at a high end apartment community in Weston, MA. Over the past few years, the property has become a haven for immigrants moving to the U.S. to educate their children. As Weston is on the national top 100 list of public schools, we are very appealing to this immigrant population. While many are hard working contributors to society and move on to buy homes and pay taxes in Weston, many are here on a temporary visa and are here to just use the system. The school budget is stretched. Because we live in an affluent community, the taxpayers share the burden. What's annoying is that we are now forced to pay an activity fee for our children while these immigrants have free bi-lingual service at their disposal. The parents don't work, yet can dish out $2500/month in rent. English is not their primary language. I'm beginning to feel like I live in a ghetto some days. I am all for diversity. However, I am nervous that the town is soon to lose it's small town American charm!

When I was a kid back in the mid 50's we visited Yellowstone on summer vacation. We pulled into the gravel parking lot next to the Old Faithful Lodge and there were maybe a dozen other cars in the lot. The last time I was there a few years ago, the Old Faithful area reminded me more of Disneyland than a National Park.
It's getting harder and harder to get away from the crush of an ever-growing population, and immigration is now a major cause of population growth. How long is it going to be before we have to make a reservation just to visit a National Park? It may not be long - just last week I had to contact the Yellowstone Backcountry Office to make a reservation to hike into the Thorofare Creek area in the southeast corner of the park. (The junction of Thorofare Creek with the upper Yellowstone River is close to the ****hest point from a road in the lower 48 states - 21 miles.)

Yes I'm a victim. I was born in Glendale, California, and growing up there was like in "Leave It To Beaver". Last week a Mexican national there put more than 200 holes in the walls of his apartment with an assault rifle.
It's representative of California as a whole. Ten years ago, more long-term Californians were leaving the state than ever before in it's history. Yet the population wasn't going down, thanks to immigrants and their birthrates.
During 1991, more than 100,000 births were provided at taxpayer expense at L.A. County Women's Hospital to Mexican illegals. Driver's education, sports, lockers, music programs, and buses have been eliminated from our educational system because it's been overrun by Mexican illegals. Entire cities have been taken over. Supermarkets in those areas deal in nothing but WICS and food stamps. California's $35 billion shortfall is due to Mexicans inundating our schools, jails, hospitals, and welfare offices. Yes, I'm a victim. I'm the victim of a Federal Government that's allowed a Third World invasion and takeover. Our way of life, our peace of mind, our infrastructure is going and gone.

I lived in Dade County and saw in just 20 years after the Mariel Boatlift how the boatloads and the sheer numbers of Spanish-speaking third world immigrants impacted the county and brought about a banana republic. The large number of immigrants then, due primarily to their large numbers, began to win political office and control most political positions. That's when the third world banana republic mentality set in.
The criminal element is also heightened. My neighborhood in Dade was a fine neighborhood until the element began stealing cars and burglarizing homes in that neighborhood. I awakened one morning to find my son's car up on blocks after his expensive rims and tires were removed from his car.
What happened in Dade is an outrage, but cannot be understood unless you have lived it. I have lived it, and do not want to see the banana republic mentality push me completely out of this state.

I am a graduate student at a local university here in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. I watch every year as my university pours money into the student accounts of immigrants from countries like Mexico, China, and India in the form of scholarships & grants from the Federal Government (both based solely on race) while I, as an American citizen by birth, have yet to receive anything other than loans on which I am forced to pay interest while I am still in school. This should not be the case. Our government should be providing more money for its citizens to get a higher education instead of worrying about pleasing the international masses.

A destitute crippled WWII veteran who was like my brother and for whom I was responsible, was denied Medi-Cal and SSI benefits which, of course, illegal aliens receive by the billions. Since I personally could not attend him or fund his needs, I was forced to put him in a low-cost nursing home where the majority of the employees could not speak English and did not properly care for him. The result was an immediate deterioration in his health and his premature death. (I learned later that the majority of these facilities employ illegal aliens and most of the patients are illegal aliens). This terrible injustice toward a loyal American citizen who had risked his life in our military to protect our country and our people, was my incentive to form the California Coalition for Immigration Reform and co-author California's Proposition 187.

I am sick and tired of illegal immigrants who don't bother to speak the language, pay taxes, etc. Here in AZ, we even now have an option (some schools just do it without parents having a say) of having half the classes in Spanish! You can also now take the driving test in Spanish, and half of cable is in Spanish - is it such a surprise that illegal immigrants love it here? I think it is important to make immigrants learn the language, and the USA is making it much too easy for them not to have to.

I live in a large mobile home park, and it is at least 75% illegal immigrants. The trailer behind me has 8 adults living in a three bedroom. There is a prostitute at their trailer every day. I would love to move but houses are so expensive. I have three boys and it isn't safe to let them go outside without me.
One Mexican told me that they would take over America and that we could go live in Cuba. Then he laughed about it.
They are getting food stamps, Medicaid and WIC, and they don't report all their income.
They get fake ID's made in Atlanta, and I even know one woman here in the park that makes them on her computer. One Mexican is using his son's social security number and had an id made with his son's name on it. He uses it for everything. His son had a warrant on him when he was just a year old. It has been reported but nothing has been done. It makes me so angry that all this is going on and it seems like no one cares about the American people anymore.

A few years ago, I was called to the scene of a major accident on a freeway in Houston to assist another officer. A large truck, driven by an illegal alien with no I.D. and no insurance, accompanied by several illegal alien passengers, had run into the rear of a smaller passenger vehicle, causing injury to the vehicle's passengers.
I radioed for assistance from the local immigration office, which responded by sending a bus and several agents to take custody of the illegals. After hearing the call go out on the police radio, several local Hispanic TV stations arrived and began filming the scene. Additionally, to make matters worse, the owner of the truck driven by the illegal alien arrived before the immigration agents left the scene, and admitted the illegals worked for him. He was arrested for another violation by myself and placed in the local city jail.
I did not know it at the time, but the Houston PD forbids officers by General Orders from getting involved in immigration matters, and due to this rule, and also the involvement of local activists and media, I almost lost my job. In the meantime, while awaiting punishment from the department, I had to suffer the allegations of the local media and government, who tended to side with the illegal aliens. I ask you, what has happened to my country, where illegal aliens have more rights and support than the local police officer who has worked and lived here all of his life?

I live in an inner city neighborhood in Houston, TX. The illegals fill up the homes around me, sometimes 7-10 people live in these homes. I have a problem with this because these people are breaking the law! I do not want to wake up one day and live in a third world country. I pay taxes and want our leaders to do something about this, and if they don't I will become an Activist until they do!

I work for a major supermarket chain in the Northeast at their warehouse distribution center. They hire a predominance of people from Hispanic countries. According to natural Hispanic U.S. residents at the warehouse, 3/4 of these foreign workers are illegal aliens. They cause problems by not wanting to blend in to the American melting pot. They just want to "take the money and run". They realize their "protected status" and aren't afraid to use it against U.S. citizen workers. We've had problems of sanitary nature that we didn't have before their arrival. Their work ethic is commendable, albeit dangerous! Many U.S. citizen workers at the distribution center, of all races and creed, just wish the illegals would drop their arrogant attitude and we could all have a better work environment. My ancestors were from an immigrant nation. So I'm not anti-immigration, I'm anti-illegal immigration. In closing, I, as well as others, feel that illegal immigration is the No.1 issue facing Americans. Let's work together to stop illegal immigration before it stops US!

I live in the Central Valley in California where there is a huge undocumented immigration problem. I read in the paper yesterday that "Feed the Children" (a Christian television commercial campaign to feed those in third-world countries) will be filming a commercial in my town in July. The article speaks about several children packed into trailers, trash strewn grounds, typical third-world conditions...and we are supposed to feel sorry for these people and give money to this organization -- further fueling lenient immigration issues. SINCE WHEN IS AMERICA A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY??
Today on the front cover of the daily newspaper is a story about the illegal immigration and drug trafficking that is occurring in our National Park!! Need I say more!?

On January 5, 2002 my son, David, was driving my '99 Ford Contour from work when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle coming the wrong way down a one-way street. The damage to my vehicle was about $9,000 to the front end. My son was bounced around in the impact, and subsequently he went to the hospital for minor cuts and observation. The driver of the other car was an alien (Spanish-speaking origin only) who did not read, write, or speak English at all! He had no driver's license, no insurance, nor could the legal owner for this vehicle be identified by our insurance company. This person was arrested, charged, and subsequently convicted of: Illegal vehicle operation, no license, and no insurance. He spent some time the city jail and was then released by the court. Hope he is not out driving and endangering others!

I live in Miami, FL -- a city dominated legal and illegal immigrants. I moved here from AR hoping I could land a better paying job. The newspaper want ads all say, "must be able to speak Spanish." I can't believe that the native people of this city can't get the best jobs. This city's politicians are bending over to accommodate the non-English speakers, while in the process pushing out the English speakers. Classes in schools are taught in Spanish. I can't believe that they are teaching high school English in Spanish. Kids who graduate that don't speak Spanish are at a disadvantage. Non-English speaking parents of kids in high school are protesting the Florida F-cat test because their kids can't read English!!! How do you pass high school English classes when you can't read ENGLISH!!! There is a saying in Miami - "I like to visit Miami because it's so close to the United States." That is exactly how I am beginning to feel - like I have moved to a foreign country and I need to learn to speak their language.

We have lived in this neighborhood since 1955. It was at that time a nice, quiet, and low crime rate neighborhood in Eastern Dallas. Now we are saturated with Mexican immigrants, many, probably the majority, of whom are illegal. These people come here and are subsidized by Fannie Mae to buy houses. Many get free medical care and draw Social Security without paying one penny into it as well as drawing welfare. They cost us taxpayers millions of dollars annually: Huge amounts of printed matter have to be in Spanish as well as directions on products. Police responding to calls often have to request an additional Police element with a Spanish speaker so they can translate. This takes more valuable time from Officers being able to properly do real police work as well as additional cost of fuel & vehicles. What I have written here just barely scratches the surface. Multiply this by nationwide numbers and the additional cost boggles the mind. This all in addition to ruining our and many other neighborhoods.

My story is not as dramatic as some. Many people have been raped, robbed or had loved ones killed because of illegal immigration. I'm just your run-of-the-mill working class person who has had hordes of illegals move into my neighborhood.
My car insurance is sky high because there is so much car theft in my area, as well as unlicensed, uninsured drivers. It is estimated that 50% of the drivers in my town are unlicensed and/or uninsured. I must pay for this with increased insurance rates and uninsured motorist coverage.
The roads are more and more crowded, and more and more dangerous. I was hit by an illegal who ran a red light. As a result, I will have back pain the rest of my life. But I am "lucky." The fiancée of one of my friends was almost killed when a drunken, unlicensed, uninsured illegal ran a red light and hit him.
I look around and I wonder what happened to my country. I am a stranger in my own land. I am a despised and persecuted minority, stuck in a bad neighborhood with no way out. I am fearful. I am made to feel unwelcome in the very country in which I was born and raised. I wonder why we have allowed this to happen, and why nothing is being done.

When one travels to a foreign country it's wise to buy a book to help translate their language into ours. Here in California I also need a wide assortment of foreign language books if I want to understand the Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Iranian, etc "Babel" of my fellow citizens. The ever growing invasion of third world people here legally, and illegally, who choose not to speak English (or only speak it when they want to sell you something or need something from you or from the system) makes me feel like I'm in a foreign country. My President and the political hacks here in California turn a blind eye to the invasion and pander for the "diversity" vote. They are destroying my state and my country.

My grandson's fiancé was the victim of an accident here in Washington State caused by three illegals. After looking both ways, she pulled out of a housing development onto a steep mountain road. (Tiger Mountain Road, Issaquah, WA.) Unbeknownst to her, a carload of illegals was barreling down the mountain at 80 MPH. They lost control and rolled their car right into her. She lost part of a finger, has a permanent deep gash (wedge) in her forehead and numerous cuts and bruises. The only reason she wasn't killed was because she was driving a big old heavy car, and they were in a small car. One of the illegals died on the spot, another died the following day and the third went to jail where he will probably now live courtesy of the tax payers for a few years before being deported and sneaking back across the border. The beautiful young lady is now disfigured for life.

I am a victim of immigration and "cultural diversity". I had a job as a teacher here in Maine. I was let go after my first year and replaced by a teacher of an "ethnic minority". When I asked for a reason for my release, I was told that I said things that didn't "sit well" with a minority of the parents. I explained that I still had to learn what was expected in the community. I was further informed that I just didn't fit in.
I guess I have to agree--after all I was a member of a minority culture for twenty years. You see, I was a soldier in predominantly Medevac units for twenty years. I was Honorably Retired, went back to school and got my teaching degree (*** Laude) and found a job as a teacher. MY cultural background was military and I guess that doesn't qualify as "culturally diverse". I wonder if my immigrant replacement is any more displaced than I was?

One day in October 1995, a woman from Mexico ran a stop sign and collided with my little pick up truck. After the police arrived, I was told she didn't have insurance, or a drivers' license. She was here illegally.
This accident caused damage to my right ankle, right knee, left rib cage, neck, and back. These injuries put me out of business forever, since my work required a lot of ladder climbing. My lawyer said it would be a waste of money to go after her, because she didn't have anything, and all she would do would be to split back to Mexico.
This has led to other medical problems, constant pain everyday, a daily dose of pain pills, and I can't pursue a relationship with a woman of any kind. Because of that illegal alien, I will probably die alone, and in pain.
I know illegal aliens want a better life. But, what in HELL about mine? I earned this as a veteran of Viet Nam?

Having lived in Laredo for many years I see the effects of this human wave of illegals from Mexico. It has caused a general break down at our local schools as well as in our medical units. There are deseases here that were wiped out in the US just a few years ago. And yes the crime in this border city has skyrocketed--from *** crimes against children and women to murder. Local stats show that the majority of these crimes are committed by said illegals.

Last year, during my vacation in Florida, I met a gentleman who swept me off my feet. I hadn't known anyone from Haiti before, but he was a very special, honest, educated man.
I returned to my practice in Virginia, but our friendship developed over the next two years. After some time, he moved to the area and we began to see one another more frequently. My family grew to love him. My teenage son played tennis with him from time to time. In short, he became a crucial part of my life.
It was not until I told him I wanted to meet his family that he was forced to reveal the truth. Not only had this man had come to Florida on a boat full of illegals, HE HIMSELF was an illegal alien. I had come to trust and love him deeply and I could not continue this charade, because he lied to me and more importantly, he broke the law.
I love this country and this man truly broke my heart by deceiving me. I wish we had no more illegal aliens like this. I know I am only one example.

In 1994 I lost my family through divorce and a year later my job and had to relocate to Los Angeles to find work. I received unemployment, which was reduced by 25% to pay for child support. Most of the rest of it went to paying for debts from my marriage. I had to live in my car until I could find a room that I could afford to rent. Soon after I developed an itchy rash that covered my entire body, and so I went to social services to get help. I was ushered into a room with approximately 30 other people. A social worker appeared and announced that if anyone were in the country illegally, they shouldn't worry because she would not turn him or her in to the INS.
She then ushered the illegal aliens in another room and there were 3 people left out of about 30 people. I was denied help for both medical and food stamps even though I had been paying into SS for 40 years. It didn't seem right that I, an American citizen, would be turned down much needed help and people who crossed the boarder illegally into our country would get preferential treatment who were not even American citizens.
Last year my former wife died of massive lung cancer, which she unknowingly had for over a year. At one time, before our hospitals were bankrupted from illegal aliens a chest x-ray would have caught the tumor before it advanced and they could have treated her and saved her life. But hospitals have had to cut back their services to the bone to pay for illegal aliens who have swamped their budget and a chest x-ray was one of the expenses that were cut. I hope this story and other stories of atrocities incurred from the unchecked massive influx of illegal aliens will help wake up our Country and put a stop to the immigrant policies which are bankrupting our country and destroying our very lives.

All Arizonans are victims. We pay higher insurance rates because of the open border. Arizona is a highway for illegals to enter. We are forced to protect our property from these illegals. The city of Phoenix and the police look the other way when they see an illegal. The city of Phoenix has even placed a covered shelter for the illegals to stand under, while they wait to be picked up for daily work. I was hit by an illegal and he totaled my car. He received 7 tickets and was released from jail and never showed up for court. I never received a penny for my damages and he did not serve any time. We as American's have to push for our rights. These rights are important and must be enforced at all levels.

I am a part-time college professor unable to secure full-time pay and benefits for 3 years now, even though I have consistently received stellar reviews from both students and supervisors throughout ten years of teaching and administration. Unfortunately, this has had no effect on my getting full-time. I have tried to get a position in either educational avenue, but our college system is importing administrators from foreign countries to achieve employment diversity on our campus.
Recently our college imported a program director from Spain, and almost one hundred resumes, including mine, documenting years of working for this college system, were never considered.
This is a travesty. Yes, diversity is important, especially in education, but at the expense of so many American citizens' futures?
This too was not a job that Americans didn't want.

I have been searching for a job for a long time. A little than a month ago I thought I had found the perfect job. The company is called Ace Floor. I was working with Mexicans, but I didn't think anything of it. What we did was we prepared wood flooring to be sent out to stores.
Well, one day I was working on a really long board and trying to put the finish on fast enough before it dried off. However, I was not used to working on this board before, because I was new. Anyway, I'm done with it, and I go to give it to the guy that puts them up to dry. He takes one look at it, sees that some parts of the board have already begun drying. He doesn't speak ANY English at all, so I don't know what's wrong. He then complains to another Mexican who can speak English, who told me what was wrong. "The board must remain wet before putting it up to dry." So then he goes to complain to our supervisor about this, and all of a sudden I'm laid off!! But here's the thing, my supervisor avoids saying I'm fired or was laid off. His excuse is that "there's not enough work."
Well, a buddy of mine works there, and he told me that a few new guys have JUST BEEN HIRED. So, here I am, jobless again. It's hard to get a job where I live, so I don't know when I'll find another one.
And how do I know the other workers are illegal? 1) They don't speak English, 2) they all ride bikes to work, so that shows they do not have proper I.D., and 3) two of them just got deported!

I have lived in my home for 21 years, in a beautiful neighborhood when I bought the home. Over the last 7-10 years, "HUD" homes began to spring up around our home. Next door to my house there is a safe home for illegal aliens. There are 15-20 Mexicans living there at all times.
I remove Mexican gang graffiti weekly from my brick wall. Gunshots are heard throughout the neighborhood most evenings. My front bedroom window has been shot out. My home has been broken into.
Every morning 30-50 Mexican illegal aliens stand in front of my home at the local Home Depot waiting for Americans to offer them jobs. The local businesses close their restrooms to them, so they use the business' shrubbery as their public restrooms.
The local law enforcement makes vehicle stops at the illegal aliens location. They ignore them. My neighborhood has become a Third World ghetto.

The Government's refusal to crack down on illegal immigration takes a heavy toll on all of us.
First there is the toleration of illegal activity.
Second there is the poisoning of the public discourse on immigration because the activists for immigration want to characterize any effort to enforce the immigration laws as perverse racism. The mere mention of the word 'racism' in a politically squeamish openhearted country like the US silences legitimate opposition based on serious social and fiscal concerns. The dialog is further poisoned by the deliberate confusion between the terms 'illegal aliens' and 'immigrants'. This confusion allows advocacy groups to paint opponents as xenophobic rednecks who jealously guard their economic and social success.
Third there is the fact that wherever the illegal aliens go, they break the social welfare budget and cause the rest of the Americans to pick up the tab in the form of Federal programs to relieve the impacted areas.
The Congress' refusal to either conform the laws of this country to what is happening, or to fund the border police adequately to stop this tsunami of illegal aliens from Mexico makes a farce of the law, of law-making, and of our national security. They seem perfectly willing to throw American citizens in jail for posing a security threat to the US, but they refuse to act against the genuine threat from illegal aliens at our southern border. It's an outrage.

My family has recently had the pleasure (tongue in cheek) of moving around the country, due primarily to lack of work. My husband is a computer techie, native Californian, whose industry has been taken over by immigrants from India on H1-B Visa's.
After spending several months each in Chicago, Maryland, Ohio, various cities in Michigan. I can tell you the problem plagues the nation.
I'm tired of all the immigrants. Yes, I'm against all immigration at this point. Our country is being taken over from within and I'm not happy about it.
I hope that everyone who posts to this list will take the time to call or write their legislators and speak out about this injustice.

I work in the office of a public high school in the Sacramento, California area. One day in the Spring of 2003, a father came in to pick his son up early from school. We are required to see I.D. from anyone taking a student from school. He had no I.D. I asked him if he intended to drive the student from school. He said "yes". I asked him if he had a driver's license. He did not.
I called for our Resource Officer, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy. I told her the man had no driver's license. The two seemed to recognize each other. She asked him how long he had been in the U.S., and he answered, "seven years." After a brief conversation, the deputy PUT HER HANDS OVER HER EYES and said, "As long as I don't see you driving, I won't do anything." At that point, she allowed the man to leave with his son.
When she and I were alone, I questioned her about letting him go. She said, "You don't understand," and told me that the man had at one time filed some lawsuit claiming racism. The deputy hurried out of the office, and I never heard the end of her story; however, she was afraid to enforce the law and allowed an illegal alien to drive off the campus with his son--without a driver's license, insurance, and an auto registration that law-abiding citizens are required to have at exorbitant cost.

My father's construction company vehicle was hit by a vehicle driven by an illegal alien with no driver's license or insurance. The person caused around $25K in damage. The police show up and their attitude is, "What can we do with them?" Not much with the way our politicians are today.

Three weeks ago, I had a medical emergency which my doctor thought might be life threatening. I had to travel one hour by car to the "nearest" emergency room that could take me!
We have a crisis with emergency rooms in California. They are packed with illegal aliens who use them as free clinics. Because of this, hospitals can no longer afford to keep their ERs open.
We all know how the time factor is so important for cardiac, stroke and trauma patients to survive when they receive emergency care. Because of illegal immigration, this is no longer possible for Californians.
The invasion from Mexico has become deadly for Americans.

Up until 1988 I worked overseas with our U.S. Dept. of State as a member of the Diplomatic Corps. When I returned to the states, I was shocked at the influx of illegal aliens all across the country; however, the enormity of this devastating problem didn't hit me until I moved to Arlington. After eleven years of living in this intolerble situation, I've come to the conclusion that it's not just a "problem" any longer because it's now a terrifying crisis -- one that is growing by the day and one that is destroying America inch by inch. This great land is fast turning into a 3rd World ghetto and it's inhabitants are ignorant, aggressive, maniacal human beings whose only desire is to rape this land, grab the goods and then trash the place.

I was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, and had anyone explained to me, 20 years ago while in high school, that I would need to master the Spanish language to be able get a decent job I would have laughed at them.
Now, it is no laughing matter...

All of us are victims of our open borders policy and of illegal immigration. However, a day of remembrance where those most deeply affected can tell their stories is an excellent idea. I have personally studied the immigration situation since 1993 and have acted voluntarily to alert the public to contact Congress and The President to correct the situation. I should like to be included in this Day of Remembrance. The death of Kris Eggle from Michigan is deplorable. If there is room, please include me with this group.

This may sound overly dramatic to some, but I feel like I have lost my culture and my heritage that my ancestors as Western Europeans brought to this county. I go out my front door and my next door neighbors cannot speak English. I do not know, but I suspect that the older more feeble of the family are on government aid. We give each other forced smiles. No words are exchanged. They cannot understand what I am saying. They draw their sarapis over their heads. One of the family members who came to visit, who can speak English, comes over to my house and tries to convince us that Hinduism is more logical than Christianity. They are a professor at a University in Texas where they are molding the minds of our young people. They admitted that if people really knew what they thought they would run them out of the country. Such is my life now in America's heartland.

I feel everyone should know what's going on in North Carolina. Since NAFTA, we have lost over 48,000 textile and furniture jobs, yet illegals are pouring in. Also, as a health care worker, we are exposed to TB, and other diseases we did not previously see here.
A message to federal & state-level politicians: You took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Allowing illegal immigrants into our country without fear of punishment is treason.

My once beautiful, safe city is a constant challenge to the police here. We have drug and gang problems. We have every problem you can imagine that goes with the invasion of my country by the illegal alien invader. Crime, drive by shootings, non communication with the people that are here illegally, hospitals closing, over crowded schools, people selling food out of shopping carts. The chance of getting hepatitis or some other form of disease is a constant worry. Shopping carts are empted and left outside of homes. This is the culture of these invaders and they will not change. Deporting is the only answer.

My experience has to do to with loss of job, family, savings and future as a result of cheap foreign labor, i.e. work visas and now the new threat of outsourcing skilled jobs in my profession to India, China, Russia and the Phillipines. I was replaced along with the rest of an American IT staff only to have our jobs and futures taken over by cheap foreign visas and outsourced jobs to India.
This brings my to my final point. Since using over $93,000 of my own money to change careers and not being able to get a new job or have a stable future or career, I cannot re-pay the Government for loan education assistance and I cannot get to Washington on September 10th to participate in the Immigration Reform Rally.
So, I'm not trying to complain here, but as more and more skilled jobs disappear and more foreign work visas are issued, the rest of us who are displaced cannot muster up the millions of dollars that are needed to fight Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, General Electric, etc. or hire lobbyists to come to Washington and control the will of Congress and the President.

Acelaw, HAHAHAHAHHA. You call these victims?
The majority of those posts were hsyterical. I hope you weren't serious about using them to make your point!!!
For the record, try not to post a book!!
Where do I start with these.....
"Below are some stories by those who have suffered because of our government's refusal to enforce immigration law."
Many of these have nothing to do with enforcing immigration law, because many of these silly posts are about LEGAL immigrants. lets get started.
"I am the manager at a high end apartment community in Weston, MA. Over the past few years, the property has become a haven for immigrants moving to the U.S. to educate their children. As Weston is on the national top 100 list of public schools, we are very appealing to this immigrant population. While many are hard working contributors to society and move on to buy homes and pay taxes in Weston, many are here on a temporary visa..."
Here LEGALLY. Moot point.
"English is not their primary language. I'm beginning to feel like I live in a ghetto some days. I am all for diversity. However, I am nervous that the town is soon to lose it's small town American charm!
Kelly Larocque"
These people, according the post, did the right thing and have visas. Don't want people different living with you? Get used to it!!
"When I was a kid back in the mid 50's we visited Yellowstone on summer vacation.
Alice Kelly
Smithtown, NY"
Immigration, legal or illegal? Population growth is only attributed to immigration?
"Yes I'm a victim.
County Women's Hospital to Mexican illegals."
Those 100,000 are now CITIZENS.
"Driver's education, sports, lockers, music programs, and buses have been eliminated from our educational system because it's been overrun by Mexican illegals.
Lance Luckenbill
Upland, CA"
That's right, you are a victim of the federal government. I bet acelaw didn't read this one!!
"I lived in Dade County and saw in just 20 years after the Mariel Boatlift how the boatloads and the sheer numbers of Spanish-speaking third world immigrants impacted the county and brought about a banana republic. The large number of immigrants then, due primarily to their large numbers, began to win political office and control most political positions. That's when the third world banana republic mentality set in."
should I read further with this prejudice garbage. They won political office? Good for them!! How can an illegal get into political office??
"The criminal element is also heightened.
Linda Deshetres
Charlotte County, FL"
The crime is attributed to immigration? How does this woman know, for a fact, that her sons car stuff was stolen by an illegal immigrant??? Sound racist to me!!!
"I am a graduate student at a local university here in Dallas/Ft.
Bryan Massie
Arlington, TX"
Is this person referring to illegal immigrants?? China and India? Sounds to me like they might be on student visas.
"A destitute crippled WWII veteran who was like my brother and for whom I was responsible, was denied Medi-Cal and SSI benefits which, of course, illegal aliens receive by the billions.
Barbara Coe
Huntington Beach, CA "
He was denied benefits because of illegal immigrants?? Doesn't sound likely. Are these illegal aliens getting benefits on behalf of their U.S. Citizen children?? Doesn't the hospital have any culpability in hiring illegals? No, according to acelaw, slave labor is ok if you don't have papers.
"I live in a large mobile home park, and it is at least 75% illegal immigrants."
How does this person know? Have they investigated if they have green cards??!!
"The trailer behind me has 8 adults living in a three bedroom. There is a prostitute at their trailer every day. I would love to move but houses are so expensive. I have three boys and it isn't safe to let them go outside without me.
One Mexican told me that they would take over America and that we could go live in Cuba. Then he laughed about it.
They are getting food stamps, Medicaid and WIC, and they don't report all their income."
How does this person know? Does she work for the IRS?
"They get fake ID's made in Atlanta, and I even know one woman here in the park that makes them on her computer. One Mexican is using his son's social security number and had an id made with his son's name on it. He uses it for everything. His son had a warrant on him when he was just a year old. It has been reported but nothing has been done. It makes me so angry that all this is going on and it seems like no one cares about the American people anymore.
Sharon Drawdy
Carrollton, GA"
Why wasn't nothing done?
"A few years ago, I was called to the scene of a major accident on a freeway in Houston to assist another officer.
Rick Walker
Sugar Land, TX"
Doesn't it make more sense to allow the to get an id and insurance??? Sounds like this person VIOLATED his agencies policy. Uh-Oh, another lawbreaker huh?
"I live in an inner city neighborhood in Houston, TX. The illegals fill up the homes around me, sometimes 7-10 people live in these homes. I have a problem with this because these people are breaking the law! I do not want to wake up one day and live in a third world country. I pay taxes and want our leaders to do something about this, and if they don't I will become an Activist until they do!
David Wainscott
Houston, TX"
How does this person know they are illegals?
"I work for a major supermarket chain in the Northeast at their warehouse distribution center. They hire a predominance of people from Hispanic countries. According to natural Hispanic U.S. residents at the warehouse, 3/4 of these foreign workers are illegal aliens."
Sounds to me like your beef is with the distribution center. If they hire only legal people, then there would not be a problem.
"They cause problems by not wanting to blend in to the American melting pot. They just want to "take the money and run". They realize their "protected status" and aren't afraid to use it against U.S. citizen workers."
What protected status?? Illegals have a protected status?
"We've had problems of sanitary nature that we didn't have before their arrival.
Jim Madden
Derry, NH"
how?
"I live in the Central Valley in California where there is a huge undocumented immigration problem.
Larissa Pola
Visalia, CA
How does this make you a victim? Great complaining, how do you propose we solve this issue?
"On January 5, 2002 my son, David, was driving my '99 Ford Contour from work when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle coming the wrong way down a one-way street.
Richard Henderson
Garland, TX
Doesn't that make it more important to allow these people to get a license and insurance??
"I live in Miami, FL -- a city dominated legal and illegal immigrants.
Crystal Sandidge
North Miami, FL
How are you a victim?? If those are the requirements?
"We have lived in this neighborhood since 1955. It was at that time a nice, quiet, and low crime rate neighborhood in Eastern Dallas. Now we are saturated with Mexican immigrants, many, probably the majority, of whom are illegal."
And you know this based on what??
"These people come here and are subsidized by Fannie Mae to buy houses.
G. M. Tippit
Dallas, TX"
And how are you a victim, and of what? So what do we do about it? Are these people getting benefits on behalf of their CITIZEN children?
"My story is not as dramatic as some. Many people have been raped, robbed or had loved ones killed because of illegal immigration. I'm just your run-of-the-mill working class person who has had hordes of illegals move into my neighborhood."
How do you know they are illegals?
"My car insurance is sky high because there is so much car theft in my area, as well as unlicensed, uninsured drivers.
Nancy Attwood
Van Nuys, California"
VAN NUYS. I lived there for many years. Is this the town this person is talking about?? If so I know this post to be a complete crock!!! 50% of the drivers uninsured? That is a good one. What happened to "your" country? It is our country. Maybe this person doesn't like diversity and wants only things one color. Doesn't it make more sense to allow these people a chance to get insurance and a license?
"When one travels to a foreign country it's wise to buy a book to help translate their language into ours.
Bob Tomal
Spring Valley, CA
And you are a victim how??
"My grandson's fiancé was the victim of an accident here in Washington State caused by three illegals.
Bette Filley
Issaquah, WA"
Awful thing to hear. But if these illegals had insurance, auto and medical, it would not be a burden on tax payers.
"I am a victim of immigration and "cultural diversity".
Bruce Burgess
Pittsfield, Maine"
Can't comment, I would have to know if this person said something racist. Being a teacher I know that prejudice comments are taken extremely serious.
"One day in October 1995, a woman from Mexico ran a stop sign and collided with my little pick up truck.
Ray Wright
Phoenix, AZ"
Awful thing to hear. Doesn't this make more sense to allow them insurance for instances just like this?
"Having lived in Laredo for many years I see the effects of this human wave of illegals from Mexico. It has caused a general break down at our local schools as well as in our medical units. There are deseases here that were wiped out in the US just a few years ago. And yes the crime in this border city has skyrocketed--from *** crimes against children and women to murder. Local stats show that the majority of these crimes are committed by said illegals.
Bradley Sanford
Laredo, TX"
Problem addressed. Don't end there, what is the solution?
"Last year, during my vacation in Florida, I met a gentleman who swept me off my feet.
Betty Godfrey, DDS
Harrisburg, VA"
Gettin your heart broken does hurt.......
"In 1994 I lost my family through divorce and a year later my job and had to relocate to Los Angeles to find work.
It didn't seem right that I, an American citizen, would be turned down much needed help and people who crossed the boarder illegally into our country would get preferential treatment who were not even American citizens."
Their children are though. How are you a victim? Your denial of benefits had nothing to do with illegal immigration!
"Last year my former wife died of massive lung cancer, which she unknowingly had for over a year.
Michael Scheurich
Palmdale, CA"
Denied a chest x-ray, sounds like you might have a malpractice lawsuit!
"All Arizonans are victims.
C. A Skinner
Phoenix, AZ"
doesn't it make more sense to allow them to get insurance?
"I am a part-time college professor unable to secure full-time pay and benefits for 3 years now, even though I have consistently received stellar reviews from both students and supervisors throughout ten years of teaching and administration. Unfortunately, this has had no effect on my getting full-time. I have tried to get a position in either educational avenue, but our college system is importing administrators from foreign countries to achieve employment diversity on our campus."
sounds like your beef is with the college's hiring practices.
"Recently our college imported a program director from Spain, and almost one hundred resumes, including mine, documenting years of working for this college system, were never considered.
This is a travesty. Yes, diversity is important, especially in education, but at the expense of so many American citizens' futures?
This too was not a job that Americans didn't want.

You were a victim alright, but not a victim of illegal immigration. You were the victim of a college's unfair hiring practices.
"I have been searching for a job for a long time.

And you are a victim how? If your others got hired that means your employer didn't like the way you worked. Sounds to me this person is incompetent and was fired for not doing a good job!
"I have lived in my home for 21 years, in a beautiful neighborhood when I bought the home.

Sounds like a bad problem? what do we do about it?
"The Government's refusal to crack down on illegal immigration takes a heavy toll on all of us.

How were you a victim?
"My family has recently had the pleasure (tongue in cheek) of moving around the country, due primarily to lack of work.

This is an interesting topic I guess...
I think these illegal guys should be given licenses so at least they could take SOME responsibility while driving. They could buy insurance for themselves and if they happen to hit your *** on the freeway and cause a $10k damage , their ins. would pay for it. This is only a point of view from my own experience.
Of course by law they shouldn't be here and all of them should be deported, right? Does anyone here think it's gonna ever happen? NEVER!! So at least let them be 'legal' drivers at least until their deportation issues get solved. The borders should be protected and avoid more of them to come. This is ridicilous that taxpayers work hard for healthcare etc. and illegal immigrants take everything for granted. I know that some of them loves this country more than some american born citizens. Until the federal law enforcement is unable to do its job, this issue stays the same. Would you not go to work to Mexico if you could make $10k a month? Especially if they let you do it, right? This is not the illegal people's fault but the U.S. Government's. That's the bottom line! Close the borders and that's it!

bmmer, I caution you on making the same mistake acelaw does on a daily basis. Not all illegal immigrants are from Mexico.
"Of course by law they shouldn't be here and all of them should be deported, right? Does anyone here think it's gonna ever happen? NEVER!!"
It is great to hear that you understand reality......unlike acelaw.
"The borders should be protected and avoid more of them to come."
That is a great first step.
"Until the federal law enforcement is unable to do its job, this issue stays the same. Would you not go to work to Mexico if you could make $10k a month? Especially if they let you do it, right?"
Exactly, businesses who hire illegals are also awful criminals who should be arrested, fined, and jailed for VIOLATING FEDERAL LAWS, right acelaw?
"This is not the illegal people's fault but the U.S. Government's. That's the bottom line!"
Uh-oh, I hope acelaw doesn't read this part!!!
"Close the borders and that's it""
Well, not really. It will only solve about half our problem. Then we deal with those here.....
