when filing the I-130, is it neccessary to file AOS along with I-130, or can that be done after my husband comes to the US? my husband is in morocco.

You cannot adjust status until you get the I-130 approved, that is the immigratn petition for a relative. Good luck.

You cannot file AOS from Morocco - it is Adjustment of Status and must be done when changing staus within the USA. You may however request residency for him from Morocco (k3 visa, I-485, etc.)

Since your husband is in Morroco so he can not apply for AOS. AOS is for those persons who are present in the United States and want to adjust their status to Permanent Resident.
You just have to file I-130 Form Petition for Alien Relative. If you are USC then you can send application for his K3 Visa also. If you are just LPR then send Form I-130.
