my mother (u.s. citizen) petitioned me (married son) in feb. 2001. so what is this california processing time means? coz i think the date that they are now processing for i-130 married son is aug 6, 2001. does it mean that they are now processing for my petition coz my receipt date is feb. 2001. will i receive any interview letter or what? does it mean that they are now working for my petition but still have to wait for 12 years for it to be approve coz the priority date for a married son petition is 1989. is that right?

i already received an interview letter from the i.n.s. but my problem is i'm already out of status. do you think if i'll go 2 that interview they will ask for my status? what will i do?

Approved I-130 doesn't mean an immediate immigrant visa availability (unless you're an immediate relative of a UCS such as spouse, parent or unmarried child under 21).

All other people have to wait for their turn to receive an immigrant visa.

Your I-130 will soon be approved but you won't get your GC after approval because you have to wait for a visa number availability. And it's a long, long wait for married sons/daughters of a USC.

I'm not sure about your interview. They definitely will ask for your status. I can't advise you on this. Consult an immigration attorney.

we already asked an attorney advised this and he told us that they will arrest my husband if he will go to that interview we're very very confused don't know what to do.

do you think eventhough this petition was filed under section 245i they will still arrest me if i will go to that interview. if yes, what will happen to those millions of people that filed a petition under section 245i, that if they will receive a letter for interview they will get arrested 2. what is this section 245i for. coz' my lawyer told me if i ignore that letter they will abandon my petition. so we just wasted money in filing for that petition. do you think the letter that we received (the appointment letter for inteview) is this unusual since my petitions priority date is not yet current.
