Need travel advice...

I have filed I-751 joint petition on feb 2003. Got an extension within couple of months(Nebraska). My extension expires may 10 2004.

My sisters wedding is on May 6th 2004. I am in a big dilemma if I should go or not(to India).

I dont want to miss my sisters wedding, at the same time I dont want to get into any trouble with INS.

Has anyone been in this situation ?

Any advice/suggestion on this matter ?

AK,

There should not be any problem, if you can come back before May 10,2004.
I am going to India on Jan 10 and will return in the end of Jan. My I 751 is pending and my GC extension is till May 2004.
For you , in month of april end you can go to local INS and they can give you stamp in passport.
I went to local INS and they told me that they can only stamp if the extension is about to expire, so in your case you can get stamp in your passport in April end and then you can go.
This is what I know , you can check with other source as well.

As far as you have that extension letter, u will not have any problem just be sure to return before it expires... Have a safe journey and Congratulations on your sister's wedding... Pasha
