Confuse

A friend of mine lives in So. California had a tourist visa, was 3 years ago. He took the NCLEX(nursing exam), and passed. There's a hospital that is willing to sponsor him, and according to him will help him get S.S. no. Is this possible?
The reason I was asking you is, he contacted me and told me about this, I have tourist visa, but it will expire on Oct. 14. I am tempted to try it, to take the exam, then if I pass try to look for sponsor.

He needs an approval from INS nowadays as evidence to SSA to get SS#. There's no guarantee that INS will approve the petition for employment sponsorship, especially when one has been out of status or illegally present.
