  • I-751 form

    Hi,

I would like to know if I need to fill out the I-751 form to remove my ex-wife resisdent status ???
I sponsor her to us, but we are in the process of divorce, I don't want to have any thing to do with her, and don't want to have any more reponsibility about her.

    Thanks,
    Guess

Guess, you would only file the I-751 if you want her conditional status changed to permanent. She may still be able to get permanent status on her own though. The I-864 you filed for her will remain in effect even after your divorce. It will only terminate when she becomes a US citizen, leaves the country permanently, one of you dies, or she works for forty quarters (10 years).
