My wife, who is a CPR, and I plan on moving in two weeks. How important is it to notify the INS? I plan on using their 1-800 number, but just want to know the consequences of not notifying them.

You have to file AR-11 within 10 days. otherwise penelty may be extended to deportation. Remember to have proof . postal /return receipt and copy of AR-11. not to mention that you should not use 800 as you required the proof of submittal AR-11.
