  • Mumbai K3 still not approved

Well the ridiculous in Mumbai keep getting more ridiculous! My husband went today for the second interview with an Indian lady this time. Again he is asked to come back a third time any working day to the window with the following information:

    1. my ORIGINAL marriage certificate from prior marriage
    2. my ORIGINAL divorce papers from that marriage. He had taken a copy of this already with the court seal and notary seal, and they won't accept this. I cannot have the original from the file, and they know this in Mumbai.
    3. pics of my prior marriage---only one exists since it was just a chapel wedding with minister and two witnesses.
    4. they want a copy of the papers Naveen and I signed in February for our marriage to be registered. He has that at home.
    5. They want the courier envelope that I sent those papers back to him in in February.

Hey I can do better than that. I even have the receipt from that courier where I sent the papers to him! LOL Well, even when he takes all this information back again, I am expecting admin review. They are just harrassing everyone there.

By the way, there were three K3 interviews on November 20th, including my husband's interview. All three was asked to come back today. They all went back, and my husband said all three again were given the same sheet of paper requesting more information and for them to return the information to the window any working day.

Things aren't right in Mumbai with these K petitions these days folks. Good luck to anyone who can get the visa on the first interview.

Just an update---I spoke with my husband by telephone again today. He told me this time he was interviewed only by an Indian lady. This time the marriage certificate was accepted, but they are now asking for the papers we both signed that he took to the courthouse and filed in advance of our wedding. Luckily my husband kept a copy of that. Bet they didn't count on that...lol

Strangely she told him the next time he comes he needs to bring evidence of our relationship. He told her he has it all with him. He had more than 60 cards/letters I had sent in the past year, 150+ pictures, thousands of dollars worth of telephone bills, printed e-mails...etc. The list goes on and on. Anyway he told her he has it with him, but she didn't want to see any of it!!! She just told him to bring it the next time. What is all this??? You have all the evidence with you, and they give you a 221(g) and say bring it all the next time. I really don't know why they want my original marriage certificate from my previous marriage and pics from that wedding, but I have it. They wouldn't accept the divorce papers that have the courthouse seal on them...I went to the courthouse today. They are giving an affidavit with a gold triple seal signed by the Circuit Clerk and the Judge stating that the attached is a copy of the original divorce documents and that the original divorce documents are the custody of the courthouse. They better accept this because anyone with a brain knows that the courthouse is not going to release any original documents they have filed. How totally ridiculous for them to even ask for this! My husband added that the Indian lady took some of the pictures from his al*** and kept them in our file. I feel certain that when he goes back to Mumbai next week with all the documents they have requested that they will put us on administrative review--not because there's anything wrong in our marriage but because they can't find anything wrong so they will use my age against me because i am a little older than my husband. I am sure they will use my previous marriage against me too. I've come to expect the worst from Mumbai these days. It doesn't matter how perfect your papers are and that you have stacks of evidence of your relationship, they will definitely look for something and make something out of nothing if they can't find anything. I am prepared to face admin review. Just hope it won't last long. Anyone who has a prior divorce--better start digging out the original marriage certificate and any wedding photos of that marriage. Anyone who married under the Special Marriage Act of 1954 should get a copy of the papers that were filed in the courthouse prior to the marriage (the ones with the signatures). Of course this all depends on who interviews you, but better overprepared than underprepared.

Will keep you all updated on any news.
