Buncha silly geese.......someone12, right on board with you on the whole visa fraud issue. Good for you, and look at how acelaw mentions Mexico! Even going so far as to bring up THEIR policies, like I give a rat's a$$.........

Anyway, same garbage on this thread, so we'll leave it at this: visa fraud and crossing our souther border is violating federal laws. Thus, there is NO DIFFERENCE.....

      THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE

Those who watched how California authorities dealt
with illegal aliens that flooded the Golden State in
last 10 years or so had probably noticed a rather
substantial disparity between the people's will and
the laws that were passed by the legislature, the
refusal of enforcement of the immigration law, and the
judicial derailment of constitutional amendments. From
the Proposition 187 (see [1]), approved by
overwhelming majority o California voters but later
stricken-down by a federal judge on questionable
grounds, to the notorious Special Order 40 that
instructed L.A. police to not inquire criminal
suspects about their immigration status (see [2]), to
the infamous and now repealed SB 60 Illegal Aliens
Driver's License Bill (see [3]), the
      Democrat-dominated government kept telling California
citizens that they knew better what's good for them
(Californians) and that they (the government) didn't
have to follow the law or the will of a majority of
the voters if that would, in their opinion, obstruct
their efforts to transform the state into a workers'
      paradise.
Although California seems to be a home of the most
      obvious disregard for America's national
self-preservation in general and her immigration laws
in particular, the rest of the country does not lag
much behind, either. Up until recently, N.Y. City
police did not "cooperate" with the INS to the delight
of "immigrant" criminals (see [4]); many other
municipalities are still enforcing heir "sanctuary"
policies of not reporting illegal aliens to the INS.
In Georgia, police helps the illegal aliens they
apprehend to catch a bus to Atlanta (see [5]), which -
I must say - doesn't seem like a serious offense when
compared to L.A. police releasing illegal aliens right
from the custody of their smuggles and cutting them
free (see [6]). In Arizona, local and federal
authorities claim they don't have enough resources to
go after illegal border crossers but are relentlessly
chasing and prosecuting desperate citizens who dare to
resist the blessings of mass illegal "migration" (see
[7]). Defying federal post-9-11 guidelines, several
Eastern states are doing whatever they can to grant
driver's licenses to illegal aliens (see [8] for a
recent example) despite visible anger that it stirs
among their constituencies. These are but a few
examples, and the list goes on and on and
      on.
While local and state authorities conveniently excuse
themselves from ANY kind of involvement in immigration
law enforcement because, or so they claim, it's "a
federal matter (see [9])", even though a vast majority
of those who elect them disagree (see [10]), the
federal government de facto refuses to do their job of
enforcing America's borders and her immigration laws
(see [11] for an example). So, over a million of
border hoppers come to America each year with blessing
of impotent Feds that don't even bother to deport
those few thousand that were actually caught (see
[12]) by their teen hundred agents thinly spread
across the nation and along its borders. And when
prospective voters not willing to take it anymore (see
[13] for poll results) bombard federal officials with
letters, faxes, and e-mails in which they demand that
this mass and mostly illegal "migration" be brought to
immediate stop, the federal government acts as if We
the People desperately wanted even more of these poor
"migrants" who just cross the border to
improve their lives and to do the job Americans
      won't.
Take, for instance, Arizona's Representative Jim
Kolbe. After numerous visits to border towns plagued
by the illegals and by the violence they and their
smugglers brought with them, and after months of
listening to the residents' request for better
protection, he came up with an idea that should soothe
his constituency: a "guest worker" program that, among
other things, would give the illegal aliens a legal
status in the U.S. and make it easier for them to come
and work here (see [14]). Right on target,
Congressman Kolbe! That's what we really want. We hope
that when your home is regularly raided by uninvited
"visitors" who help themselves to your fridge and wet
bar and sleep in your guest bedroom while you are away
diligently working to solve the illegal "immigration"
problem, and when your wife calls 911 and tells them
to do something, your elected sheriff rather than arresting the
perpetrators will suggest legalizing the trespassing and
giving your "visitors" a legal status of "guests" so that they
won't have to sneak into your home anymore through a
hole in fence, and your wife will have no illegal activities to
      report.
But that is really nothing when compared to what
Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge is up to. After
more than a year of complains from the citizens about
lack of decisive action of his agency to curb the
illegal "immigration", he told a Miami audience last
Tuesday that the government should legalize millions
of "undocumented immigrants" living in the country,
ostensibly because they don't pose a threat to
national security. "The bottom line is, as a
country we have to come to grips with the
presence of 8 to 12 million illegals, afford
them some kind of legal status some way," Ridge said
at a town hall meeting at Miami-Dade Community
College, according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel (see
      [15]).
Let's make sure we understand your and your boss's
(see [16]) logic, Mr. Secretary Ridge. Because up to
12 million illegals have already managed to violate
our borders (and are probably laughing of your
"Homeland Security Agency" and our immigration laws),
we have to accept that as a fact of life, pretend that
they are all harmless and hardworking people, and
abandon our futile struggle to encourage them to go
back where they came from? And right after that, you
said, you will fulfill your promise of last Tuesday to
institute an immigration enforcement policy that would
prevent future illegal entries? And, by the way, those
who don't pose a threat to national security should be
left alone and let continue doing whatever they are
      doing?
We would be really stupid if we couldn't see the
fallacies of your "logic", Mr. Ridge. Just look at the
consequences of what you are calling for. If there
are millions of kids in this country who drink
alcohol, smoke marijuana, and, perhaps, use illegal
drugs, should we just come to terms with that because
so many of them do that? Or if some unscrupulous
"entrepreneurs" profit from illegally copied software
(and other intellectual property that they stole
already) should we give them some kind of legal status
for their infringements of the copyright laws so that
they can continue improving their lives and
contributing to American economy? Or, perhaps, should
we let all the child molesters, pickpockets, drug
peddlers, wife beaters, car thieves, and tax cheaters
off the hook just because they don't pose a threat to
national security? Or should we have to come to grips
with the presence of common criminals in our lives and
not to push for better enforcement of the law simply
because most of them are here to stay? And then trust
our law enforcement agencies that breaking the law
will not be tolerated anymore after an amnesty is
      passed?
      I don't think so.
We the People of California finally managed to get rid
of a terrible governor who was notorious for blatantly
ignoring the legitimate will of majority of the
voters. It wasn't easy and it took some courage, if
not desperation, to stand up against those at power,
although the so-called "mainstream" media called the
recall election "a circus". It will be interesting to
see if you guys from the rest of this country have
enough guts to do the same. For if not, you may bet on
it that your elected officials and their appointed
administrators will force all the "immigration reform"
laws of their liking down through your throats.

        acelaw-Another wonderful article.

".... to the notorious Special Order 40 that
instructed L.A. police to not inquire criminal
suspects about their immigration status (see [2]),"

        Cute.

        "Up until recently, N.Y. City
police did not "cooperate" with the INS to the delight of "immigrant" criminals (see [4]); many other municipalities are still enforcing heir "sanctuary" policies of not reporting illegal aliens to the INS."

        Nice.

"In Georgia, police helps the illegal aliens they apprehend to catch a bus to Atlanta (see [5]), which -I must say - doesn't seem like a serious offense when compared to L.A. police releasing illegal aliens right from the custody of their smuggles and cutting them
        free (see [6])."

        Wonderful.

        "...but are relentlessly
chasing and prosecuting desperate citizens who dare to resist the blessings of mass illegal "migration" (see
        [7])."

        How so??

        "Defying federal post-9-11 guidelines, several
Eastern states are doing whatever they can to grant driver's licenses to illegal aliens (see [8]"

        Splendid!

"These are but a few examples, and the list goes on and on and on."

Yeah, the end is in site for immigrants right??

"While local and state authorities conveniently excuse themselves from ANY kind of involvement in immigration law enforcement because, or so they claim, it's "a federal matter (see [9])","

Kinda hard to round people up this way.......

"...the federal government de facto refuses to do their job of enforcing America's borders and her immigration laws"

Uhh, ok, and in some magical turn of events they are going to start massively deporting folks?? Nah, like I've said a million times, actions speak louder than words....

"So, over a million of border hoppers come to America each year with blessing of impotent.."

"Border hoppers"? I like it......lost credibility with me there.....

Tell me, why no mention of visa overstayers that are @40% of our problem??? Why?? Could there be an agenda behind this?? Yeah, I see right through BS like this.

"And when prospective voters not willing to take it anymore bombard federal officials withletters, faxes, and e-mails in which they demand that this mass and mostly illegal "migration" be brought to immediate stop,"

Tell me, how successful has that been? Not saying they shouldn't, only that the proof is in the pudding.........It's falling on deaf ears. But, who knows, something COULD happen.

"the federal government acts as if We
the People desperately wanted even more of these poor "migrants" who just cross the border to improve their lives and to do the job Americans won't."

Ok, you mentioned part of the problem. Is there any reason why this person fails to mention visa ovestayers, which account for nearly half (some estimates half at half and even slightly more) of our issue?? Why focus on our southern border?? I smell a rat.....

Illegal immigrants are illegal immgrants. Thus, if a person is REALLY concerned with the illegal population, they'll include ALL illegla immigrants.......

".....a "guest worker" program that, among
other things, would give the illegal aliens a legal status in the U.S. and make it easier for them to come and work here (see [14]). Right on target,
Congressman Kolbe! That's what we really want."

I hate to say I told you so but.......well.....I won't.

"We hopethat when your home is regularly raided by uninvited "visitors" who help themselves to your fridge and wet bar and sleep in your guest bedroom while you are away diligently working to solve the illegal "immigration"
        problem,"

        Idiotic, fallacious analogy.

"...and when your wife calls 911 and tells them
to do something, your elected sheriff rather than arresting the perpetrators will suggest legalizing the trespassing and
giving your "visitors" a legal status of "guests" so that they won't have to sneak into your home anymore through a hole in fence, and your wife will have no illegal activities to
        report."

        Idiotic, fallacious logic.

Aftermore than a year of complains from the citizens aboutlack of decisive action of his agency to curb the illegal "immigration", he told a Miami audience last Tuesday that the government should legalize millions
of "undocumented immigrants" living in the country,"

Uhh, I hate to say I told you so, but, well.....I won't. Wow, that is a far cry from massive deportations! Could it be that I was right all along?? Nah, what do I know right. Well, the proof is in the pudding.....doesn't seem like such a tough stance on the illegals to me.

"....ostensibly because they don't pose a threat to national security."

        Which they don't...

"The bottom line is, as a country we have to come to grips with the presence of 8 to 12 million illegals, afford them some kind of legal status some way," Ridge said"

        What an intelligent fellow!

"Because up to 12 million illegals have already managed to violateour borders (and are probably laughing of your "Homeland Security Agency" and our immigration laws), we have to accept that as a fact of life,"

With no other alternative, reality hurts.....

"...pretend that they are all harmless and hardworking people,"

        Not all, the majority.....

"...and abandon our futile struggle to encourage them to go back where they came from?"

        Futile!!!? Your words not mine!!!

"And right after that, you said, you will fulfill your promise of last Tuesday to
institute an immigration enforcement policy that would prevent future illegal entries?"

This Ridge fellow is a smart guy!!

"We would be really stupid if we couldn't see the fallacies of your "logic","

        What about yours??!!

Yada, Yada, Yada, Yada, Yada, Yada

Same old rhetoric filled with idiotic comparisons......

"We the People of California finally managed to get ridof a terrible governor who was notorious for blatantly ignoring the legitimate will of majority of the voters."

Uhh, ok, great logic. We also elected somebody who isn't going to do anything serious with the issue....Tell me, when did Arnold say he'll order any massive deportations??

"It will be interesting to see if you guys from the rest of this country have enough guts to do the same."

To do what?? Elect another person who will do next to nothing......

WAAAAAAAAA, same old garbage. Wait where is this genius's solution???!!! What is it?? Let me take a wild guess, round'em all up??

Nary a solution to be found in these types of articles, just b!tching, moaning, you know.....same old stuff..

And yes, they are here to stay.....
        More enter as well....facts.
