DO I STILL HAVE A CHANCE ? PLS HELP...

One interested employer filed an
H1b petition for me. They do it
by themself without getting help from
any lawyer. Do we have a chance to
have it approve? As of this time
we have receive acknowledgement
notice from the INS but no approval
yet. It was almost 5 months since
the filing of the petition.

I think, your employer had to apply for your labor certification also. Without Labor Certification you can not any Immigration benefits. Better, you talk to some Immigration Attorney and discuss your case.

Initially, you have to send documents to the DOL, but that is not the labor certification and it has got nothing to do with labor certification at this time when you apply for H1-B.
If you have got notifiacation from the INS then your employer probably knew what to do, however, five months seems to be a bit long...
Make sure your employer knows what they are doing and they did not get things screwed up.
Why did you not get a lawyer? You employer is cheap and wants to save money, don't they?

The best advice one could give you: Get a lawyer!
Though H1B filing seems to be easy, indeed it's a very intricate process very easy to be denied by DOL/INS. It's far cheap to seek legal assistance comparing to the odds of having the petition approved.
