  • B-2 Visa Extension

Client entered US with B-2 Visa good through 3/13/2009. He becomes ill, is hospitalized and will probably need some long-term care. Other than applying for visa extension, does he have any other remedies? Hospital caseworker mentioned "instant citenship." What is this? Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Applying for the visa extension is the only possible way. There is not "instant citizenship" under US immigration law.

Real story: alien lied to embassy about true purpose and length of trip...lied to border officials upon arrival, began working illegally, was injured during unlawful employment (broke a finger or something) and now is looking for a way to scam a permanent stay in the US.....get out, scam artist.. No one should be rewarded for having a hang nail or getting the flu....

                No such thing.

Your only option is applying for an extension.

You will need to be able to prove that the alien is paying for the medical treatment. Otherwise it will be denied.
