  • Work permit late renewal?

My work permit expires on January 6, 2004
and I had no idea you got to apply for renewal 6 months in advance!

I've just discovered it today....Will they still accept my application renewal if we are in November and I was supposed to file it July ?
I'm married to a US citizen and self employed.
    Thanks

You are in exactly the same situation I was in a few months ago. My EAD will expire tomorrow, and I applied for a new one in late Aug, and received a receipt notice Sept 3. I will not be able to work until I have a new EAD card. If you haven't received a new one within 90 days of the receipt notice, you can get an interim card at your local immigration office. Self-employed or not, you are not allowed to work if your EAD expires, so I would recommend sending in a renewal application as soon as you possibly can.
