My employer fired me after 3 years on H1B and 5.5 months on Green card. I'm in Maryland. Do I qualify for unemployment benefits?
    Thank you all

If you have a green card, you may be able to collect unemployment, but you need to check out the rules for eligibility in your state. Depending on why you were fired, you might be ineligible for unemployment benefits. If a person is fired for cause, the former employer may contest paying unemployment benefits.

Check out this page for more information and links to State Unemployment Insurance agencies: http://workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/...ifactsheet.asp

Downsizing :-( Really, the company started outsourcing what I was doing, and replaced me with a junior guy (I wonder what his immigration status is), with a fraction of my qualifications. We parted under very good terms.
