The Omnibus budget bill has received a special attention from the immigrant community because the Senate passed two provisions which affect the community: One was:
* suspension of the special registration program and the other was
*Restoration of immigration filing fees to those before January 24, 2003.
Report indicates that the appropriators hope to be able to conference the omnibus bill as early as Monday, with votes expected in the House Wednesday and the Senate Thursday. The White House is threatening(like always)to veto the bill if the President does not get the bill meeting his appetitie.
