Looks like you got an approved I-140 and filed an Adjustment of Status with work authorization etc. According to AC21 (your lawyer should explain), you are allowed to leave your sponsor as long as the I-140 AND I-485 had been pending for at least 180 days when you left the original sponsor. Also, the new employment must be the same or similar to the one you were sponsored for (same job duties, similar/same salary, etc).

It appears that your employer was taking advantage of you. No chance for 245(i) though for you. Just go home and try another way, or apply for asylum or marriage to USC.
