H1 Visa Quota

Hi, I know that H1 visas are going to run out early this year. Does anybody know how soon is that likely to happen?

Also, I am seeking an employment as a teacher in the secondary education institution, the High School to be exact. Are these educational institutions exempt from H1 quota limitations?

It is possible that the H-1B cap may be reached around January-February 2004. The new fiscal year, with new numbers available, would start on October 1, 2004.

As to exemptions from the quota. Unless your employer is an institution of higher education (post high school) or a non-profit organization affiliated with an institution of higher education (post high school), you will be subject to the H-1B cap.
