Just had an AOS interview, but have to wait for FBI & backgroung check. HOW LONG IT TAKES?

can u please tell us which district office u filed u'r I485 ? and when did u file it ?
i have filed mine at newark last november 2002 and i am still waiting for the interview

My bro is Boston filed AOS for marriage paperwork in June 2002 and just got an Oct 2003 first interview appointment.

i filed mine at newark. they sent me a notice saying i would hear from them by MAY and it is almost july now ?

they meant May 2004.

Jay, I too filed in Newark, in Nov. 02. All we have to date is FP in Jan. 03 and EAD in FEB. 03. We were supposed to hear something by May of 03 but my lawyer said that they are behind and are processing case in about 9 months instead of 6 months. But keep checking in here and I will do the same.

can't believe what I'm reading. I filed my paperwork in Tampa last year May and got my appointment for DECEMBER 2002. Since then nothing. No letter, no note just plain nothing.
I wonder how long it will take to get my interview.
