Travel Medical Insurance will provide coverage for any medical emergencies or unexpected health issues that may arise during your trip. It's essential to have this coverage to ensure you're protected while traveling. As for trying out medical establishments and various healthcare services during your stay, having Private Health Insurance would be beneficial. It will give you more comprehensive coverage for services like dental, vision, mental health, OBGYN, and primary care. To start your search, you can check with insurance providers that offer international coverage or specific plans for expatriates. It's always a good idea to compare different plans and read reviews to find the best fit for your needs. By the way, I absolutely love traveling and discovering new countries too! While browsing online, I recently came across some interesting tours of the iconic Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It's a must-visit landmark with a rich history.

When we went to drive the country before we purchased our house we went on travel insurance through the airline. The private insurance our bank has for us can't be signed up for until our visa is approved which we are waiting for to come in mail any day.

  • Private Health Insurance vs Travel Medical Insurance for 3 months scouting trip?

I am about to travel to Portugal for a scouting trip, want to try out living there for about 2 months and also travel around Europe a bit (2-4 weeks) in between. This may be a bit of a dumb question, but do I only need Travel Medical Insurance or also Private Health Insurance?

Would be ideal if I can try out the medical establishments a bit while I am staying there scouting, such as dental, vision, mental health, OBGYN, Primary care, etc. Is this possible? I am in my early 50s, reasonably healthy, planning to move to Portugal in the future on D7 Visa.

Where do I start to look? Really appreciate any advice or recommendations you can give!
