  • Alien Numbers/Passport

Since nobody has answered my post of Friday, I'll ask more general questions. Please keep in mind that I arrived here when I was 9 in 1963 and therefore have no experience whatsoever with visas, passports, etc. The questions are: does everyone get their "A" number written on their passport/visa when they arrive at the port of entry? If not, when? Thanks.

When somebody arrives here, the person gets I-94 Form only. A# is a permanent file number with the Immigration Department. It is issued only when somebody applies and qualifies for some Immigration benefits for residency.
      Good luck.

Umesh, thank you very much for the answer. I now have to find out why there was no follow-up done in my situation and what recourse I have. Thanks again!
