The spare change in your pocket means alot to someone less fortunate. The Bell Ringers help EVERYONE, regardless of race, religion, or nationality.

Even though I don't celebrate Christmas, I always donate to the The Bell Ringers this time of year. This year I'm in a bind and can't.

You may not think those spare pennies and nickels add up, but they do.

If anyone can throw in a few cents on my behalf, I'd be forever grateful. Thank you so much.

Josephine, the bellringers are the Salvation Army volunteers. I always throw in change when I see them out during the holidays, so I'll throw in a few extra coins for you I also donate clothing to the Salvation Army and toys during the toy drives at Christmas time. One year, I was fortunate enough to help deliver the toys to a shelter and the look on the childrens faces made my entire holiday season!!
There are so many wonderful charitable organizations that help people in need, You don't need money, donate an old pair of glasses, an old cellphone, some old clothing or pots and pans and dishes...these are all needed by some less fortunate!
          Bless you

Thanks Josephine for bringing up a good topic... I am an agnostic too, but I still believe that this is a good time of the year to capitalize on people's good will and be generous to the less fortunate. This is my time to donate to the ASPCA, the 9/11 fund (I have a colleague who lost her brother and husband on 9/11), various New York City charities and Planned Parenthood. I can't give a lot, but I think every little thing helps.

Happy Saturnalia/Sol Invictus/Yuletide/Winter Solstice to all!
