  • The first caliphs of the Abbasid state

The rise of the Abbasid state The establishment of the Abbasid state was based on a call that heralds their state that began in the year 99 AH and was divided into two parts, the first of which was a secret call and the second was an open call. It is evident through the choice of the center of Al-Humaima, for example, in Jordan, and this region is located on the pilgrimage route, and also the choice of Khorasan was based on the Umayyad fighters’ discontent with the rule of the Umayyad state. These reasons, in addition to the weakness of the Umayyad state, contributed to the establishment of the Abbasid state at the hands of the first caliph of the Abbasid state, Abu al-Abbas al-Saffah

The eras of the Abbasid state The eras of the Abbasid state began with its secret and public call, and Muhammad bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Al-Abbas, the founder of the Abbasid call, lived in the Humaymah area in Jordan, and the Abbasids had an idea in their minds that they were more deserving of the Umayyads in ruling because of their lineage from Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib The uncle of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and this idea was one of the most prominent points that the Abbasids called for [2]. The affairs of the Abbasid call Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Ali moved to the public stage and the conflict began with the Umayyads at a time when the Umayyad state was suffering from internal divisions and struggles over power. to the overthrow of the Umayyad dynasty, and this is what actually happened in a decisive battle in Islamic history, which was a turning point and a transfer of power from the Umayyad dynasty to the Abbasid dynasty, which is the Battle of the Zab, which took its name from logic. The battle that took place with it, because the Zab is a river near which the battle took place and the name was taken from it, and Abdullah bin Ali, the uncle of the caliph Abi al-Abbas al-Saffah, the first caliph of the Abbasid state, fought this battle, and he was able to achieve victory over the Umayyad army, this is what prompted Marwan bin Muhammad From withdrawing towards Egypt until he was killed there by Abdullah bin Ali, commander of the Abbasid army, and with this event the Umayyad state effectively ended and the era of the Abbasid caliphate began.
