What is the legal difference between a B-2 and a Visa Waiver? I know that the amount of time is different. But, are there any other differences?

With VISA WAIVER, you cannot change or status to any other type of visa such as student visa for example. Also you cannot ask for an extension of stay. Lastly, if you are caught by Immigration Authorities you WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO APPEAR ON IMMIGRATION COURT.

I would go with B2 visa...
