  • Not listed as surviving spouse on husband's Death Certificate

i am thinking about applying for citizenship and one of the documents they are asking for is my deceased husband's Death Certificate. We weren't together when he died but not divorced either. The state he dies in won't give me a copy of the Death Certificate but only a Death Certification - either way I won't be listed as the surviving spouse ie. Widower. I can apply to have the Death Certificate changed but the revised certificate will indicate what was changed and when. Should I be concerned that this somehow implicates me in a fraudulent marriage? I've been a permanent resident for nearly 20 years and if there's any chance of losing that status if citizenship is denied I'd just as soon drop the whole thing.
