Hi All,

I recently got married. my husband is a US citizen, however he is a student. We don't have anyone who could co sponsor me for GC. I have a legit job (on CPT). My Lawyer says I cant use my income to sponsor myself. Is there any other alternative. Need your help ASAP.

The intending immigrant's income can be counted in the sponsor's household income if the immigrant is authorized to work and the income will continue after immigration. The issue here might be whether CPT is too short for you to be able to continue to work through the immigration process (or at least until you get an EAD).

Unfortunately there is no other way around it. You need a sponsor and to submit a form I-864 which is a necessary document for a family-based green card application
