Well now you wait for it to go to the NVC then on to the embassy of chose. In the meantime get all your evidence together ie pictures, letters, engagement photos, phone bills, affadavit of support, bank records, tax records etc. And wait some more. Good Luck.

There is a great website to following the progress of K-1 visas and there's a lot of information. The website is http://www.davehollis.com/k1/list.php

It's really very useful. But to expand on the above answer:

1) The approved petition is sent to the National Visa Center for a security clearance. Once the name is cleared the packet is sent to the embassy/consulate in your fiances' country. Each Embassy handles things a little different but, for the most part, they send out packet 3 to your fiance and when he responds (be sure to tell him/her not to send documents with the response) they will send packet 4 with the medical examination information and interview date.

Other necessary documents:

Passport
Original birth certificate nd translations
Divorce Certificates and translations
Police Record Clearance
Military Records
Evidence of the relationship
Affidavit of Support and backup documents

Be certain that your fiance is getting all these documents together so the process will go much quicker.

It depends on varying factors.. The NVC has go thru FBI, ppl of middleeastern decent are taking longer I hear. The packet 3 comes from the embassy, again it depends on the embassy. Some, specifically mumbai, often say they've sent the packet but in reality they do not. This is from like 6 people i know going thru same embassy. You can download the forms from the packet 3 off embassy website, or you can have the fiance/spouse go pick up the packet 3 at the embassy info window.
