DUI while application to adjust my status is in progress

Hello, I / We have applied to adjust my status from visitor ( Austria) to permanent residents due to marriage. All legal. Paperwork is being possess for 6 weeks now. Last night I got pulled over and arrested for the night, charged with DUI. No accident or injured anyone but I I'd have a drink or two. :-(

Will my immigration officer hate me now and not let me live here with my wife?

Hmmm??? Well My wife "At least I thought she was" Did It and She is still here!! GRRR!!! Misdemeanor In most places the first time. Your Lawyer will charge you more and Make it sound like OMG!!! But from my experience, For some strange reason under this administration you cannot do wrong.

Thanks, so you think I might be okay. Yes I have a lawyer for only 7 grand. I think she should be good for that kind of money. But still she does not my immigration papers. We did those ourselves. But as I understand now, being charged with a misdemeanor will not kick me out of the USA. Sound good. Thanks. And good luck with your " loved one" . Hope that works out for you okay.

One DUI is not a problem for adjustment of status. However, multiple DUI's can become a problem for adjustment to status. This should not cause a problem with the paperwork b/c you answered those questions based on the date the petitioner signed the I485. But when the interview comes and those questions are asked again, then that is when you want to disclose the DUI and the rededy by the court. Keep all paperwork related to your DUI and please, do not drink and drive.

One Is Misdemeanor, Its almost same as nothing. Dont Do it Again.

Hey, thanks everyone. Yes, I did learn my lesson. No drinking and driving.
Let's just hope my interview goes well. No other charges are up against me and I live so
by the books now. It's still a lot of fun. I wonder for how long my license will be gone.
Oh well! At least I learned my lesson and no one was injured.
