I have my working permit which was issued to me 6 months ago. I was told that renewal must be done 3 months before expiration. Can anyone please help me on hoe to renew my working permit.

What did you get your work permit based on? Work Green Card, marriage??

It looks like to renew your work permit you use the same form you used to get it, the I765. You'll see that you have to check what you are applying for, in your case it would be "renewal of my permission to accept...."
The reason you have to file it within 3 months of the expiration is so they can renew it in time.
If you have conditional permanent residency or permanent residency you don't need to renew it.
