Can we marry in Canada?

I need help. We want to get married and get him here asap. He is Canadian (in Canada) and I'm a US citizen. The questions are as follows:

He's married to a US citizen whom he has not seen in nearly four years. They married here, but she moved to Canada immediately. Less than 3 months later, she returned to the US and despite continuous attempts, he has been unable to locate her or anyone who knows of her whereabouts to get a divorce.

Now, we want to be married and have him here as soon as we can. I realize this is an immigration site, but if anyone knows of any FAST way to dissolve this type of marriage, please advise.

More importantly, when he DOES get the divorce, IF WE MARRY IN CANADA, CAN HE COME BACK WITH ME IMMEDIATELY, TO THE US?? HOW SOON CAN HE WORK LEGALLY IF SO???

U can marry anywhere in the world once he gets divorce ... he can file divorce where marriage took place or where they both resided at last .... Even if they cant locate other party still divorce is possible ... once u r done with this ... u can go for immigration stuff...fiancée visa, K3 .... good luck ... Pasha

Thank you so much! To get deeper, they married in New York state.... so can he file for the divorce anywhere in the US or does it have to be done in New York state??? Pleeeeeeeease say anywhere in the US??

I would like to help you but i will have to check that stuff n shall write here tomorrow ... as i understand it should be done in state where marriage took place ...but let me double check it and i should give you more specific answer ...meanwhile who knows ...someone else will help u here ... I don't know about the divorce but the following is a link for the k-3. If you marry in CA then you will need to file for K-3 to bring him in and that takes a few months. There's a lot of good info about the k-3 on the web but this will get you started.
