  • I need urgent help regarding conditional green card...

I got married to an American citizen in 06/99, and applied for a green card in 01/2000. Recieved my conditional green card which was valid till 09/2003. I filed all the the necessary forms in 04/2003, and was called for an interview in 09/2003, I went to my interview, but without my wife, since we were separated at that time.
Now, we are back together, and I recently went to INS, to get an interview date, and they sent me a letter saying that my request to remove the condition from the green card was denied, citing that since I did not show up for my interview(in 09/2003), also that they sent me three appointment letters since then, which all went to my old address. I did update my address with the INS, by filling out the appropraite form and mailing it to the appropriate place. The letter also states that I cannot appeal on the decision. What are my options???

As I have already described my situation above, I did forget to mention one thing. The letter also states that I will have to go infront of a judge now, along with my wife, and explain my case. Does anyone have any idea, what kinda questions I'll be asked. I am going to take some evidential documents with me like joint bank account statements, life insurance.

That's an awfully long time be in limbo. When you appeared alone at the interview, were you given any instructions by the AO? I'd recommend you consult an immigration attorney and quickly.
The above is simply an opinion. Your mileage may vary. For immigration issues, please consult an immigration attorney.
