2 yr temporary residency deadline Right before I leave to Military, HELP

Im a temporary resident at the moment, and I'am about to reach my 2nd anniversary with my wife which I believe the second interview comes in so I could turn into a permanent resident.

Problem is that I'm getting deployed 2 days before I reach the 3 months prior to our 2nd anniversary and I wont be with my wife for the process. What is going to happen? and what would I have to do?

I'm not an expert on the immigration process for members of the military, but I believe that there is a facility on military bases that can assist and advise on such issues.

Why don't you talk with your commanding officer?

I just want to clarify that when you file to remove conditions, it is not 3 months prior to the 2-year wedding anniversary. It is 3 months prior to two years after your green card was issued.

I understand SundeVille, but I know several people serving in the military and they tell me that they have to watch their backs, especially with certain ethnicites, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for clarifying that, but just give a bit more detail. My conditional GC is set to expire on 04/2012, and I will enter the army this July as an Active Duty soldier, meaning that 95% of my 4 years in the army will be spent overseas.

I believe there is a second interview for me and my wife in order to remove the conditions, but im afraid that I will be half away around the world when that time comes, hence I dont know what to do if this happens.

I heard rumors that, the military only takes care of the citizenship process but not the resident process.

You will need to file the I-751 in January of next year - 90 days prior to the expiration of your conditional green card. I think you should discuss this with an immigration attorney because there might be special circumstances involved because you are military. Just make sure you have all evidence of a bona fide marriage and the I-751 completed before you deploy since your wife may need to file this in your absence. If they do schedule an interview, perhaps you can request a leave of absence to attend. This would need to be addressed with your commanding officer.

In any event, try not to worry. Everything will work out okay.

PS-
For the bonafied mirage proof, I believe its around the same kind of proof I had to show in my first interview right? Also, is there a second interview or is it all paperwork? Im getting mixed answers with this one.
