I filed my N400 app on 8/31/07 but have yet to hear back. Does anyone out there know if this is normal and when might I expect a response? Also I am curious to know if it is ok to travel internationally while the N400 is in process--without jeopardizing the process? Thanks!

There is a huge backlog of data entry at the USCIS. See http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb9...CM1000004718190aRCRD
Yes, you can travel while N400 is pending just like before you filed. Just make sure you don't miss appointments, like fingerprinting, interview, and oath.

Thanks for your responses. I am gathering from the web site that it is taking up to 15 weeks to get a response. Do you know how much longer after the I-797, Notice of Action, is received can one expect to hear back about appointments/fingerprinting? And whether these can be rescheduled (pushed out) in case I happen to be traveling at that time?Spider24
