Does anyone know Can an alien spouse be approved for adjustment of status and not been approved for green card and still be an active citizen and employee? She retained an immigration attorney back in July without my knowlege "to make sure it goes through" on the weekend.

If the AOS is approved then GC process is approved as well (just a matter of receiving plastic card in the mail after photo is taken).Comment

greencardvictim: You are trying to say that Alien approved for adjustment of status can become a Citizen, NO
After the AOS approved he/she will receive a conditional Green Card for the 2/3 years.
You can write to the USCIS in California, asking them the same question with attornies name and address that he has done for Mrs.XYZ.
Or you can directly question USCIS how she has become citizen without the Green card.
Let see what they have to say in this case.
