    Hello everyone,I've been in US since 2003 on h-1b visa which expires in November 2006 ( first 3 years), my employer is willing to sponsor me for a GC,my question is should i apply for an extention of h-1b or should i start GC process, how it works and how long it takes?

      Hi !
      you don`t have to apply for extention since your visa expired in Nov 2006. You can start GS process as soon as possible.
      First step:
      Your employer must obtain a permanent labor certificate from Department of Labor (DOL) which allows him to hire a foreign worker.
      How to start ?
      Go on http:// workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/foreign/perm.asp
