in general, if you are abroad less than 6 months, there shouldn't be a problem with re-entering the States. There may be some questions at POE if entering after 6 months to determine if you abandoned your status. For a trips longer than 1 year, one needs re-entry permit.
There are no guarantties and sure answer. It is not only a matter of time spent abroad, but also the reason behind it and ties with the US.
